Well here goes....

Welcome to my new super shiny blog and my first ever post! I've been wondering when the best time would be to make my first post as I've been playing around with the layout of the blog for a few days now. Apparantly its now.

I decided to start a blog after being inspired by so many of you wonderful bloggers out there (see my blogroll) whom I stumbled across whilst fueling my very addictive yet unintentional new obsession - not 'Twighlight' no but fabric! I can only blame my husband to be for this as he was the one who bought me a sewing machine for Christmas (2009), yes I did ask him for it, well beg really, but he was the one who put it in front of me and now I have to use it!

I am now like a woman possessed teaching myself how to sew, buying gorgeous fabric I yet don't know what the hell I'm going to do with and finally today when sewing a zipper has totally beat me I'm posting the first post on my blog. Welcome. It is here that I intend to share with the world, well with those of you who read my blog, my journey into the unknown. I imagine a future that holds quilting, possibly making clothes and other general craftiness being the centre of my world - alongside my two adorable children of course and my husband to be Mr. G.

Clearly we have a lot to learn about each other, that is you and I, not me and Mr. G!

Please check back in with me, if only to laugh at the debarcle that will surely be my journey into sewing!!

  1. Hello, I think I'm going to like your blog! I'm also fabric obsessed. The fabric you liked on my blog is from Seamstar. I think you might have just added a link on your blog as I type! Its a really lovely website and the fabric arrives super fast wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon. Looking forward to getting to know you better. x

  4. Hello again. Can't find an email address for you so will leave another comment! Think you might need more than 1 metre especially if you want to make it with pockets. I stupidly didn't measure properly as usual and so didnt have enough fabric to do the pockets although it looks fine without them. I just about squeezed it out of a metre for my 4 year old who is quite tall and slim. x
